Questions, answered

How much does training cost?

Tuition depends on the program. Admissions walks you through cost, payment plans, and funding options on your first call.

Can I use my GI Bill®?

Yes. Both schools are GI Bill® approved. North Country also works with Voc Rehab and National Guard benefits.

What's the difference between a Class A and a Class B CDL?

A Class A covers tractor trailers and other combination vehicles. A Class B covers single vehicles like dump trucks, box trucks, and buses.

When does the next class start?

CDL classes start often, and Class B runs about every two weeks. Heavy equipment runs in three week sessions. Line Technician cohorts start roughly every three months, and seats are limited.

I'm not from Escanaba. Where would I stay?

Both schools help out of town students find lodging nearby. Ask admissions when you call.

Does the Line Technician program include a CDL?

Yes. Every Line Technician student earns a Class A CDL with no restrictions.

Do I need Level I before Level II?

Yes. Level II builds on Level I and moves you onto bigger machines like the dozer, motor grader, and full size excavator.

Can I do any of the training online?

Yes. Midwest offers ELDT theory and endorsement courses online, including HazMat, Tanker, Air Brakes, and School Bus and Passenger.
